On July 14, 2026, my life changed forever. I received the gift of a new kidney through a kidney transplant.
My journey has taught me so much about faith, patience, strength, gratitude—and the importance of taking care of YOU.
Did you know that approximately 37 million adults in the United States have chronic kidney disease, and about 87% don’t even know they have it?

That’s why kidney disease is often called a silent disease. You may not feel sick or have obvious symptoms, yet your kidneys could be losing function.
Please don’t get so busy taking care of everyone else that you forget to take care of yourself.
Get your regular checkups.
Know your blood pressure.
Know your blood sugar.
Ask your healthcare provider about your kidney function.
Pay attention to changes in your body.
And don’t be afraid to ask questions.
My experience has taught me that your health is worth making time for.
Sometimes we don’t realize how important our health is until something happens that changes our lives. Let’s not wait until then.
Make the appointment. Get the checkup. Know your numbers. Take care of YOU.
My journey isn’t over—it’s a new beginning.
And if sharing my story encourages even one person to take their health seriously and discover a health problem early, then my experience has a greater purpose.
